On site in Portland Maine

Small Drill boring rock in Albany, ME, 150' deep wells with closed loops in
them to extract heat from the earth. This is a small rubber tracked crawler rig,
which can get into small urban lots without damaging driveways and lawns. This
place had no lawn yet, still, we strive to keep site disruption to a minimum.

Unrolling a geothermal ground loop of 3/4" plastic pipe, to be inserted in the
boreholes we made in the ground

One of the larger tophammer rigs we use on occasion. Very fast, but hard on the
landscaping.

Grout trailer, for pumping thermal grout into the boreholes, to seal against
groundwater contamination and to thermally bond the loops to the sides of the
boreholes for heat transfer.

When the Ground Loop is installed, it doesn't look like much, just two pipes
stick up out of the ground. However, there is a total of 300' of plastic pipe in
the ground in this picture, 150' down, a 180 degree "u" bend, and 150' back up.
This site has ledge 4' below grade, so this loop is in 145' of granite! Nice
drilling. There are 4 of these on this site, 3" diameter holes, 150' deep.
Once the plastic pipes get connected, we circulate anti-freeze though them to
bring the heat up from the ground, then run it thru a geothermal heat pump, and
heat and cool the house for about half of what oil heat or propane costs. The
tops of the bores and the pipes are buried 3-4' down, and the pipe carries a 50
year guarantee from the manufacturer.

No matter what your needs, please call or
email to discuss your requirements. The payback in geothermal energy is not just
monetary and in the knowledge that you are no longer completely reliant on
faceless corporations. It's in the knowledge that your heat is reliable,
cost-effective, nearly carbon-neutral and, above all, natural.
